Jess Wyatt III: A Life in Art, Music, and Vinyl Mastery

Born in the 1960s in Tulare, CA, Jess Wyatt III has been creating, inspiring, and collecting for as long as he can remember. Self-taught in both visual and musical arts, Jess discovered his talents early on, sketching to stay busy and immersing himself in the rhythms of life through music. His passion for education flourished at the young age of 24 when he began his career as an educator. Since then, he’s been a guiding force for countless young creatives, sharing his expertise in art and music with enthusiasm.

For Jess, music isn’t just a soundtrack — it’s a way of life. His extensive vinyl collection, boasting over 100,000 records, is a testament to his belief that music is the texture of our world. With rare vinyl records like first pressings of The Beatles, James Brown, and John Coltrane, Jess crafts a musical experience that bridges genres and generations.

In May 2023, Jess brought his love for both music and art to the forefront as part of the WE Art Project at Arts Visalia along with four other local visual artists. Showcasing one-of-a-kind paintings of jazz icons like Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis, and Nina Simone, Jess contributed to a celebration of community diversity and culture. The WE Art Project reflects Jess’s belief in art as a universal language, encouraging visitors to bond through collective stories and the power of music.

Jess’s art extends beyond gallery walls. His hand-drawn portraits of jazz, rap, and hip-hop legends are both soulful and striking. Don’t miss your chance to own a one-of-a-kind work of art — explore and shop a curated collection of art by Jess Wyatt III!
